Mechanical Maintenance Technician Fawley in Northam
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality rotating equipment maintenance, repair and overhaul activities on a large industrial site.
This role involves carrying out removal, strip-down, inspection, repair, rebuild, installation and commissioning of a wide variety of rotating and mechanical equipment as part of both corrective and preventative maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out strip-down, inspection, repair, reassembly and commissioning of rotating equipment including pumps, gearboxes, turbines, valves and electric motors.
* Complete all required documentation including strip-down reports, rebuild records, dimensional checks, tolerances and clearance measurements.
* Follow technical method statements and accurately interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
* Work in full compliance with site HSEQ procedures and safety systems.
* Participate in risk assessments, site inductions, toolbox talks and follow permit-to-work requirements at all times.
* Report any safety concerns, near misses, incidents or issues promptly.
* Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring the site and workshop are inspection-ready at all times.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have proven experience working with rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, turbines, gearboxes and valves.
A strong ability to diagnose faults, collect and interpret data, and draw accurate conclusions is also essential.
Additionally, the candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills, be able to communicate clearly with supervisors and team members, and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience using ERP or work-order systems is beneficial.
