Two permanent OO5 Ranger positions - Nebo and EungellaUndertake a diversity of field and office-based work.
Help develop and implement the annual works program.
Coordinate and manage a small team of rangers.
Undertake work tasks focused predominantly on fire and pest management, plant and infrastructure maintenance.
Work alongside Traditional Owners to manage their spiritual lands.

If so, let us know your preferred location.As the second in charge, you will report directly to and support the Ranger in Charge to plan and deliver the day-to-day work program in accordance with the business plan.
You will lead and guide a small team, inspire enthusiasm, and ensure their safety and wellbeing.Working collaboratively with other Rangers and external contractors, you will deliver annual fire, pest, natural resource, visitor and asset management programs and undertake plant and infrastructure maintenance tasks in protected areas and State forests.
You will directly supervise a small team and work with others to deliver the work program.The Nebo Work Unit incorporates various parks and forests within the area surrounding Nebo, including Homevale National Park, Dipperu National Park (Scientific) and several proposed estate additions.The Eungella position assists the Ranger in Charge to develop and implement the annual works program within the Pioneer Work Unit, predominantly at Eungella National Park and Crediton State Forest.It will be essential that you already hold a manual driver's licence.
You must be willing and able to regularly travel and camp out in varying climatic conditions and work well in a small team.While you do not need any tertiary qualifications, a formal qualification in a relevant discipline would be highly regarded; as would a certification to use agricultural chemicals and poisons and possession of a Queensland firearms licence.To join our team as a OO5 Ranger, you must have the following skills:ability to establish and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholdersexperience operating and maintaining plant and equipment (or the ability to rapidly acquire)an ability to work with others to plan and deliver annual work programs and park management projectssupervisory experienceadministrative skills - for compiling reports, maintaining records and using computer systems and applicationsexperience managing human resources and budget processeshighly developed communication skills - to respond to customer queries, provide advice and to carry out park patrolsconfidence undertaking compliance and enforcement activitiesa willingness to support and promote the interests of First Nations people.No accommodation is available for the Nebo position.Single shared accommodation can be negotiated at Eungella.This is a great opportunity for those with a positive attitude and the ability to work and live with others - and also occasionally alone.There are two positions is available in Nebo and Eungella, please indicate your location preference for this role on your application.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference:QLD/653472/25Closing Date: Monday, 1 September 2025Occupational group Primary Industry & Environment
