**Job Title:** Horticulturalist/Vegetation Manager
Our esteemed organization is seeking an experienced and motivated Horticulturalist/Vegetation Manager to join our team. This key role will oversee the implementation of our Vegetation Management Plan, ensuring the golf course and clubhouse surroundings are meticulously maintained.
Responsibilities:
* Work closely with senior leadership as part of a collaborative team.
* Train and supervise staff on horticultural tasks.
* Manage revegetation projects, adhering to timelines and budgets.
* Maintain regular communication with senior leadership regarding progress and priorities.
* Ensure all staff adhere to correct PPE and safety protocols.
* Coordinate contractors, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
* Continually review the VMP, providing recommendations aligned with long-term goals and future works plans.
* Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures at all times.
Requirements:
* Formal qualification in Horticulture, Arboriculture, Landscape Management, or a related field.
* Demonstrated experience in horticultural or environmental land management roles.
* Strong understanding of plant health, revegetation practices, weed identification, and pest/disease management.
* Experience supervising or training staff.
* Ability to interpret and execute Vegetation Management Plans.
* Sound knowledge of safe work practices and PPE requirements.
* Strong communication and organizational skills.
* Competency in record keeping (e.g., chemical applications, training records).
* Chemical Accreditation (ACUP or equivalent).
* Experience working in golf course, sports turf, or large-scale landscape environments.
* Chainsaw operation or arboricultural experience.
* Experience coordinating contractors.
* A passion for environmental and native vegetation management.
