Join Our Team Volunteer Administrative Support

Approx. 4 hours per week | Remote

The Impact Youll Make

Short Back & Sidewalks (SBSW) provides free haircuts, without judgement, to people experiencing homelessness, disadvantage, and social isolation. Beyond practical support, we create space for dignity, conversation, and meaningful human connection.

Responsibilities

* As an Administrative Support Volunteer, your contribution will directly strengthen our ability to deliver services across the country. While this role works behind the scenes, its impact is felt on the frontline.
* Your organisation, attention to detail, and proactive support will help ensure our programs run smoothly, our volunteers feel supported, and our communities continue to receive consistent, high-quality care.
* In this role, you will:
o Coordinate calendars, meetings, service days, and key events
o Maintain accurate contact, donor, and service records
o Support communications and mailing list management
o Assist with event logistics and preparation
o Help prepare reports, documents, and internal resources
o Maintain organised digital filing systems
o Provide general administrative support to the Operations team

What Commitment Looks Like

To create meaningful and sustainable impact, we ask for approximately 4 hours per week, with a minimum commitment of 6 months. Consistency helps us build stability, maintain strong systems, and ensure our programs continue to operate effectively. As a growing grassroots organisation, reliability in this role makes a genuine difference.

Training

All SBSW volunteers receive comprehensive training and induction to feel confident in their role. Ongoing support and regular check-ins are provided to ensure volunteers feel connected, supported, and able to contribute meaningfully.
