The Team:
The Infection Prevention and Control Service is a specialised clinical service within Hospitals South. Our team provides clinical leadership and practical support to all THS South wards, departments, and clinical and non‐clinical services.
As a core component of delivering safe, high‐quality care across a complex health system, the IPC team works proactively to prevent, identify, and manage risks associated with healthcare‐associated infections (HAIs). Our service plays a critical role in protecting patients, staff, visitors, and the broader Tasmanian community.
The Role:
The Nurse Manager:
* Provides leadership and manages the coordination of the Infection, Prevention and Control Unit (IPCU) within a health service/facility.
* Supports the efficient and effective provision of care, based on clinical standards and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework by coordinating the clinical, management, education and nursing research functions for the IPCU within a health service/facility.
You will need:
* Demonstrated advanced knowledge, skills and experience in relation to infection, prevention and control.
* Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in contemporary nursing management practice, including clinical governance, clinical risk management, evidenced based practice, research, clinical standards and ethics.
* Individuals will demonstrate capability to provide the team with a clear direction, inspire a positive attitude and a desire to succeed in staff members at all levels, and will persuade others and influence outcomes (internally and externally).

Details of appointment:
Fixed term full time, day worker position, work ing up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for approximately six months.

Salary:$126,036 to $132,932 per annum.Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
