Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Environmental Consultant to help lead their Contaminated Land team due to a retirement in the business. This is a strategic leadership role within their environmental division, offering the opportunity to shape project delivery, mentor a high-performing team, and drive technical excellence across a diverse portfolio of contaminated land projects in Victoria, and occasionally South Australia.
Your new role
* Team Leadership & Development
* Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary team of environmental consultants.
* Project Management & Technical Delivery
* Oversee the delivery of complex contaminated land investigations, risk assessments, and remediation projects.
* Act as Project Director on high-profile assignments across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and property.
* Ensure projects meet regulatory, technical, and client standards.
* Client Engagement & Business Development
* Lead proposal development and contribute to strategic business growth.
* Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental compliance.
What you'll need to succeed
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field.
* 10+ years of experience in contaminated land consulting, including leadership roles.
* Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP) preferred
* Strong technical expertise in site assessment, remediation, and environmental due diligence.
* Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and large-scale projects.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and report writing skills.
* Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel for client meetings
