Bar Vino is looking for a skilled head chef with a passion for great food to join the team at our Italian inspired wine bar in Mount Lawley. By day the venue operates as Willing Coofee, a well-loved espresso bar designed for lovers of fine coffee and the European café culture. By night the venue transforms into Bar Vino, an Italian wine bar with a meticulously curated list of more than 180 wines and Italian inspired dishes.
The ideal candidate would have at least 3 years of experience as a sous chef/head chef.
Responsibilities
* The Head Chef would be responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, efficiency, and team performance.
* Designing and developing menus, creating new recipes, and determining presentation standards for all dishes
* Ensuring consistency, quality, freshness, and timely preparation of all food produced by the kitchen.
* Planning, coordinating, and overseeing daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient workflow and service delivery.
* Training, mentoring, and supervising kitchen staff, including implementing new cooking techniques and operational procedures.
* Managing food and labour costs to meet budgetary and financial targets.
* Overseeing plating and presentation to ensure consistency with established standards.
* Establishing, implementing, and monitoring food safety and hygiene procedures, including maintaining cleanliness of equipment and work areas.
* Determining staffing requirements and reviewing staffing levels to meet operational and financial objectives.
* Recruiting, onboarding, and developing kitchen staff including chefs, cooks, and food preparation personnel.
* Managing inventory, stock control, supplier ordering, and procurement of food and kitchen equipment.
* Setting, monitoring, and evaluating kitchen staff performance standards to maintain high productivity and quality outcomes.
* Monitoring customer feedback on food and service quality and addressing complaints or issues where required.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a sous chef/head chef.
