Work that matters
The School of Agriculture, Food & Wine is looking to build capacity in food science research and teaching and is seeking to attract an outstanding applicant with food science background who will maintain and further enhance innovative research and scholarly education capabilities.
The applicant will be expected to introduce innovative approaches to teaching and assessment, and contribute collaboratively to curriculum design for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses across the food science discipline.
The appointee will also contribute significantly to our Haide College programs which forms part of the University's Joint Education Institution based in Qingdao, China, in partnership with Ocean University China.

The team
The School of Agriculture, Food & Wine is one of several schools in the College of Science, and represents a world-class concentration of scientific research, education and product conferring capability, with infrastructure and resources predominantly at the Waite Campus. The School is the centrepiece of the Southern Hemisphere's largest collection of expertise in plant genomics, crop improvement, sustainable agriculture, food science, soil science, dryland farming, viticulture, and oenology.

Experience
To join our community and thrive in this role, you will likely have the following skills and experience:
* A PhD in food science, food technology or a related discipline.
* Demonstrable expertise in the food sector (e.g. food innovation and technology, food chemistry/biochemistry, food product development, food sensory analysis).
* Demonstrated ability and commitment to teaching in food sciences via lectures, workshops, tutorials and practicals at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
* Demonstrated ability to undertake teaching-related administrative activities including assessment, marking, pastoral care and maintaining online learning platforms connected with courses.
* Demonstrated ability to secure research investment from national/international competitive agencies.
