About The Opportunity
The Graduate Accountant is a key position in the central Financial Reporting and Research Support Team, which is responsible for providing a high-quality financial accounting service that ensures the integrity of the general ledger. It supports the effective and efficient management of the University and its Subsidiaries' financial resources, within statutory and regulatory guidelines.
What You'll Do
* Ensure general ledger integrity through balanced transactions and timely reconciliations.
* Process payroll journals, reconcile payroll accounts, and resolve payroll accounting issues promptly.
* Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements.
* Assist with maintaining the fixed asset register.
* Contribute to month end and year end processes, including processing journal adjustments, expenditure accruals and prepayment adjustments.
What We're Looking For
* Sound financial, analytical, and commercial skills, including problem solving and decision‐making abilities.
* Comfortable with Finance systems and applications, to deliver analysis and report on information.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and willingness to learn new skills and applications.
* Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Willingness and commitment to take on journey towards qualified accountant (e.g. CPA or CA).
Salary Details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 4 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $91,488 comprising base salary within the range of $73,814 to $78,195 plus 17% superannuation.
