ABOUT THE ROLE
Location: Jimboomba, QLD
Employment Type: Ongoing / Full-time
Salary: $71,128 - $76,272 (dependent on qualifications aligned with the award), plus super and NFP salary packaging
Our Meals on Wheels program is run by our dedicated team of volunteers and offers vulnerable members of the community low-cost freshly cooked meals, delivered to their door.
This position is responsible for crafting menus and preparing food, whilst overseeing the food service operations. Additionally, it involves coordinating a team of volunteers and staff, to ensure an effective service delivery.
Our Food Services Coordinator has the capacity to make a genuine difference in the lives of aged and vulnerable people, so our ideal candidate will possess a passion for food, and an empathetic approach to serving those in need.
As our Food Service Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following:
Manage the Food Service Operations.
* Provide food safety supervision over the food service operations from the Jimboomba site
* Prepare meals onsite, ensuring that the meals are prepared and served on time, including being delivered to clients as part of our Meals on Wheels programme
* Redesign menu as required, referring to client feedback as necessary.
Manage the Food Services Team and Coordinate Volunteers:
* Effectively manage the Food Services Officer as a direct report, providing supervision and feedback as required
* Coordinate volunteers to ensure timely service delivery
* Support volunteers with their questions and provide feedback on service delivery
* Delegate responsibilities of volunteers to relevant departments as required.
Stakeholder Engagement:
* Advocating for quality food supplies
* Build the current client base by facilitating the onboarding of new clients, whilst adhering to the current capacity requirements.
Skills and experience required to be successful in this role:
Essential
* Food Handling Safety Certificate
* Food safety supervisor qualifications (registered with Logan City Council or eligible to register)
* Experience and desire to work respectfully in the Community Sector, including an understanding of Aged and disability issues (e.g., client rights, independence, QOL, etc.)
* Knowledge of Safe Food Handling requirements
* Demonstrated self-management, organisational and time management skills, adept at working autonomously to efficiently and effectively meet deadlines and tasks
* Excellence in communication skills, both verbal and written, coupled with a proven ability to effectively engage with stakeholders across various levels and ensure clear, concise, and meaningful communication.
Desirable
* Previous experience co-ordinating service delivery
* Previous experience working with volunteers
* Previous experience designing menus.
