Join Western Power as an Electrical Inspector
Western Power is seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector to ensure the safety and compliance of electrical installations connected to the network. This role involves complex inspection, investigation, and auditing activities, utilizing extensive electrical knowledge to meet regulatory obligations.
Your Responsibilities
* Conduct compliance inspections on electrical installations, ensuring adherence to regulations and standards.
* Prepare and issue inspection orders for non-compliance issues.
* Investigate non-compliance cases involving electrical contractors and workers.
* Provide technical reports on electrical shocks and fires, and support legal proceedings with court testimony.
* Perform complex inspections on major installations, including high voltage (HV) systems.
* Offer technical advice to Western Power personnel and industry stakeholders, communicating legislative updates effectively.
Qualifications and Skills
* Current Electrical Workers License (essential).
* Designated as an Inspector (Electrical).
* Certificate IV in Government Investigations.
* Knowledge of electrical transmission, distribution networks, and relevant standards (e.g., AS3000).
* Excellent stakeholder management skills.
* Experience with electrical metering and installation practices.
* Valid WA Driver’s License (Class C or C-A).
