Primary objective
Determines, develops and implements strategies to coordinate organisation-wide accreditation programs with NT Health
services, whilst setting the strategic and operational direction throughout the organisation to support services to meet
National Health Service Standards requirements.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide high level leadership and expert advice on accreditation, health standards compliance, and accreditation
readiness across NT Health.
2. Develop and implement strategic frameworks to ensure sustainable compliance with national health services standards
3. Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of accreditation processes, including striving for continuous readiness.
4. Interpret and translate standards into clear, practical organisational resources and assurance mechanisms.
5. Establish and maintain robust compliance monitoring, audit, and reporting systems for executive assurance.
6. Ensure timely and effective management of recommendations and corrective actions resulting from accreditation
processes.
7. Lead engagement with external accrediting bodies, regulators, government agencies, and professional bodies.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Current registration as a health practitioner with AHPRA or equivalent recognised authority.
2. Significant senior leadership experience within a complex health service environment.
3. Extensive demonstrated experience leading health service accreditation and compliance with the NSQHS Standard or
equivalent frameworks.
4. Strong understanding of clinical risk management, patient safety and continuous quality improvement methodologies.
5. Ability to interpret complex standards and translate them into practical, sustainable and organisational systems.
6. Proven ability to build effective partnerships with clinicians, executives, regulators and external stakeholders.

Provides authoritative strategic and operational advice that influences contemporary nursing/midwifery practice and service delivery
across a defined number of practice areas.
Context statement
Determines, develops and implements strategies to coordinate organisation-wide accreditation programs with NT Health services, whilst
setting the strategic and operational direction throughout the organisation to support services to meet National Health Service Standard
requirements.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Leads and collaborates in the development, review, and evaluation of services, including interpreting established professional
precedents and organisational policies, and supporting change management as required for operational effectiveness and delivery of
contemporary safe and effective healthcare.
2. Accountable for the outcomes of nursing/midwifery services across a defined number of practice areas and for addressing
inconsistencies between practice and policy.
3. Creditably advocate for nursing/midwifery and represent the profession(s) effectively across the Health Service and the NT.
4. Demonstrate NTH values - safe; responsive; kind – in all decision-making and interactions with consumers and colleagues.
5. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in
order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
6. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same.
2. Demonstrated contribution to the profession and/or specialty at local and national level.
3. Demonstrated high-level leadership and management skills including strategic thinking, practical people management, and the ability
to successfully support change in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment.
4. Demonstrated ability to deploy financial and human resources strategically and effectively to support successful attainment of the
organisation’s strategic and operational plans.
5. Demonstrated ability to facilitate a positive work environment that promotes professional excellence and builds organisational
capability and responsiveness.
6. Demonstrated use of effective communication skills to maximise productive working relationships, including with relevant specialists
and executive management, and manages conflict to promote co-operation, teamwork and understanding.
7. Demonstrates and applies highly developed knowledge and understanding of the social and cultural issues, influences and sensitivities
that influence health care provision for individuals and groups.
Desirable
1. Master’s Degree, or equivalent, beyond entry to practice relevant to specialty area.
2. Graduate Certificate in Management or equivalent.

Ongoing appointment is subject to attainment of a Master’s Degree, or equivalent, beyond entry-to-practice relevant to specialty.
The preferred or recommended applicant will be required to hold a current working with children clearance notice and undergo a criminal
history check. A criminal history will not exclude an applicant from this position unless it is relevant to the position. This role carries specific
immunisation requirements. To be eligible for appointment you will be required to meet the immunisation requirements associated with
