Range Operator Job Description
The Defence Base Services contract supports the Defence estate with various services and facilities management. We deliver a range of capabilities including asset management and maintenance; ranges and training area management; airfield & land management, and more.
As a Range Operator, you will work on live ranges watching live fire next to the Australian Defence Force. Your responsibilities include providing range services at the Range Defence Training facility, corresponding areas, and exclusion zones during live range activities and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure Red Flags / Red Lights are positioned in accordance with Range Standing Orders
* Prepare ranges and assist users and customers as needed
* Undertake Land Management activities including grass cutting, tree removal, weed spraying, and GIS mapping
* Participate in first response bush firefighting activities within the limitations of qualifications, equipment, safety, and crew size
* Perform basic Estate Upkeep functions such as fence and gate repairs, and other tasks
* Manufacture and repair targets as required
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Current Driver's Licence - Required
* Experience in Range Training Areas and/or Land Management - Desirable
