Job Role:
Floodplain and Stormwater Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with NSW legislation while integrating floodplain strategies with council initiatives.
The Floodplain & Stormwater Coordinator oversees strategic planning, flood studies, risk management plans, and stormwater asset planning.
* Manage council’s floodplain management program according to the NSW Flood Risk Management Manual.
* Provide technical expertise for development assessments on flood-prone land.
* Coordinate Total Flood Warning Systems as part of the council's disaster preparedness efforts.
This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Having experience working with government agencies or private sector companies can be beneficial but is not necessary.
