**Job Title:** Educational Support Assistant
**About the Role:**
This position involves assisting teachers in various tasks that promote student learning and well-being, under the direction of the principal.
**Key Responsibilities:
* Supports instructional activities by working individually or in small groups to reinforce instruction, monitor performance, and facilitate learning.
* Performs a range of duties including classroom management supports, instructional assistance, and related clerical tasks to support teachers and other professional staff.
**Physical Demands:**
Frequent physical demands include bending, walking, running, and lifting objects/equipment up to 50 pounds. Additional demands include moving wheelchairs, assisting with toileting, feeding, and daily living activities.
**Requirements and Qualifications:**
1. A minimum of an AA degree is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. College coursework should include a minimum of nine credit-hours related to education field such as behavior management, instructional strategies, and experience working with students in structured educational situations.
2. If no related education coursework, then two to four years' experience working with children and adolescents is required.
3. At least 48 college credits and two years of experience in an education-related field are required, including preschool, adult day programs, after-school programs, extended-day programs, or school/non-school-based departments.
4. Successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment with a qualifying score of 455 or higher is mandatory.
**Schedule and Benefits:**
This part-time position entails a .500 (40 hours bi-weekly) schedule, with 10 months of work per year. It is a day job with flexible scheduling requirements.
