**About ELMHS**
Early in Life Mental Health Services (ELMHS) provides assessment and treatment for infants, children, adolescents, young people and their families. We work with the 0-18 age in the Southern Region. We provide a comprehensive assessment service and a range of treatment options including inpatient treatment in times of crisis, community (outpatient) treatment, group programs, family therapy, and specialist services.
The Intake, Assessment, Consultation and Brief Treatment Team (iACT) provides up to six sessions of initial assessment and treatment for referrals received by our service. We work with families in addressing a number of complex issues that families may be experiencing including school refusal, parent/child relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, trauma related issues, self-harm, suicidal thinking, eating disorders, and psychosis.
**About the Team**
The Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Team offers specialist perinatal and parent-infant mental healthcare. The Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Team works alongside other ELMHS and adult mental health clinicians from any team working with expectant mothers, parents and infants, to provide education, consultation, supervision and specialist perinatal and parent-infant mental health assessment and treatments.
**About the role**
The role is that of a mental health clinician with training, qualifications and experience in assessing and treating primary care-givers and infants with mental health problems.
This position will respond to families in the perinatal period where there is an identified primary care-giver with an adult mental illness, attachment difficulties between the infant and the primary care-giver, where the infant is at high risk for psychological and emotional problems, and/or infant development may be compromised.
