About the Role
Rhelm is seeking a passionate and motivated economist to help deliver a wide range of analyses and business cases across the transport, environment and water sectors. You will work in supporting project decision making and justification of projects and policies within NSW, Australia and internationally. This is an opportunity to work within an innovative and dynamic environment, surrounded by recognised experts in this field.
This role can be based in any of our Sydney, Newcastle or Brisbane offices.
Qualifications & experience
Bachelors degree or higher degree in Economics or related discipline, ideally with secondary qualifications in engineering or environmental science
Up to 7 years industry experience in advisory or economics, preferably with experience in transport economics or environmental economics
Experience or a sound understanding of State or Commonwealth infrastructure assurance pathways and guidelines regarding economic appraisals
Tasks & responsibilities
Developing and reviewing economic and financial models to support project justification
Business case preparation under State, Federal and international requirements
Establishment of economic methodologies to monetise non-market goods
Engage with stakeholders to build a knowledge base for evidence-based decision making
Use advanced software and tools, including GIS, for simulating and analysing datasets and visualisation
Working within a multi-disciplinary team to provide a holistic basis for integrated coastal management
Remaining aware of current research and relevant guidelines for assurance and advisory
Translating complex technical information into easy to understand, plain English reports and correspondence and communications, with a high degree of accuracy
