The Role
The Sales Specialist will be a member of the high growth Australian sales team within S&P Globals Market Intelligence. This role offers the opportunity to work on global multi‑stakeholder deals with a wide range of companies that lead, innovate, and disrupt their respective industries. One day you may be talking to an emerging technology startup that is mapping a growth strategy. The next day you may help a large conglomerate corporation navigate their sustainability journey.
The Impact
As a Sales Specialist you are a critical part of our team’s growth. You will sell a wide range of data sets such as market research, public and private company data, security‑level data, as well as Capital IQ solutions into both existing relationships and new logos. Your role requires you to be a self‑started and trusted advisor who deeply understands each client’s unique challenges and goals. You will consult with customers about the S&P services suite to evangelize solutions that help them reach their business objectives.

Your Skills

Responsibilities
* Revenue Generation – carry an individual sales target and generate new revenue from white space and existing clients in Australia.
* Conduct client sales meetings, diagnose needs, design and deliver solutions for our clients.
* Identify and initiate new client relationships and work on the end‑to‑end sales cycle from origination to closing of the deal. Optimize revenue by prioritizing opportunities and engaging clients proactively through cold‑calling campaigns, marketing strategies, and account planning with Relationship Managers.
* Develop and nurture deep and strong relationships with client organisations, addressing their needs and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
* Develop an exceptional understanding of and stay current on the S&P Global Market Intelligence products and functionality and their application to specific clients or job functions.
* Produce accurate sales forecasting and keep an up‑to‑date pipeline, contacts, and meeting notes in the Salesforce CRM system.
* Stay current on competitor offerings to identify strengths and vulnerabilities of S&P Global Market Intelligence offerings in comparison.
* Contribute to the business strategy through a deep understanding of industry regulatory requirements, market trends, and client requirements.
What We’re Looking For
* Bachelor’s degree in business or commerce; CFA is desirable.
* 5+ years of experience selling financial data, research platforms, and data feed solutions to institutional clients in the Australian and New Zealand capital markets.
* Ability to work with the broader team of sales, account management, customer success, and product specialists to maximize revenue growth and client retention.
* Strong organisational, negotiation, and presentation skills to close strategic and complex deals.
* Proficiency in MS Office and sales enablement tools such as Salesforce, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn, etc.
