Senior Payroll Officer (30.4 hours per week)
Sydney NSW, Australia
At Levande, we're redefining retirement living through our commitment to creating communities where residents can live well, every day. As we continue to grow nationally, we're looking for a hands-on Senior Payroll Officer to join our People & Culture team.
About the Role
This is a highly operational, end-to-end payroll role suited to someone who enjoys being in the detail and owning the day-to-day processing.
You'll be actively involved in each payroll cycle — from timesheets and pay runs through to reconciliations and query resolution. This role is focused on doing the work, not overseeing it.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you'll work closely with P&C and Finance to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery across the business.
This role does not have direct reports and is not a project or leadership-focused position.
Working Pattern
* Part-time role (30.4 hours per week)
* Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (Thursday as standard non-working day)
* Flexibility to vary this every second week
* Hybrid working (2 days in office, 2 from home)
Key Responsibilities
* Running payroll cycles end-to-end, including data validation, pay runs and reconciliations
* Reviewing and correcting timesheets and Time & Attendance data prior to payroll processing
* Managing new starters, terminations, back pays and leave reconciliations
* Processing superannuation, payroll tax, PAYG and other third-party payments
* Managing the payroll inbox and resolving employee queries in a timely manner
* Performing regular reconciliations to ensure accuracy across payroll and statutory obligations
* Maintaining accurate payroll records and supporting month-end and year-end activities
What You'll Bring
* Solid experience in a Payroll Officer role, or early-stage Senior Payroll Officer experience
* Strong hands-on experience running payroll end-to-end
* Comfortable working at a detailed, transactional level day-to-day
* Experience with payroll systems (Dayforce highly regarded)
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
* Practical problem-solving skills and a responsive, service-oriented mindset
About You
You're someone who enjoys working in the detail and takes pride in getting payroll right. You're reliable, organised, and comfortable managing the day-to-day workload, including queries, reconciliations and processing tasks.
Why Levande?
* Purpose-driven organisation focused on resident wellbeing
* Supportive and collaborative People & Culture team
* Stable, hands-on role with clear scope and expectations
* Hybrid working and flexible part-time structure

If you're looking for a hands-on payroll role where you can take ownership of the day-to-day processing and make an immediate impact, we'd love to hear from you.
