Your Role As an Agricultural Service Technician – Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing and repairing large-scale broadacre farming machinery both in the workshop and in the field. This full-time role requires strong mechanical, hydraulic and diagnostic capabilities, with a focus on supporting customers operating modern tractors, harvesters, sprayers and precision agriculture equipment during critical farming periods. Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs on agricultural machinery in accordance with manufacturer specifications • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic faults on broadacre farming equipment • Conduct field service work and attend on-site breakdowns to minimise equipment downtime during planting and harvesting operations • Utilise diagnostic software and specialised tools to troubleshoot complex machinery issues • Inspect, test and commission machinery following repairs and maintenance activities • Install, assemble and adjust mechanical components, hydraulic systems and precision farming equipment • Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation and warranty reports • Provide technical advice to customers regarding equipment operation, maintenance requirements and preventative servicing programs • Work collaboratively with workshop personnel, service managers and customers to ensure efficient job completion • Adhere to workplace health and safety procedures and manufacturer service standards Skills and Experience Trade qualification in Agricultural Mechanical Technology, Diesel Motor Mechanics or equivalent • Minimum 5 years of experience servicing and repairing broadacre agricultural machinery • Demonstrated experience working on large agricultural equipment such as tractors, harvesters, self-propelled sprayers and planting equipment • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems • Experience using OEM diagnostic software and electronic service tools • Ability to work independently in field service environments and respond to breakdown situations • Experience with Case IH, New Holland, John Deere, or similar broadacre machinery brands will be highly regarded • Knowledge of GPS guidance systems, precision agriculture technology and machine control systems is advantageous Salary and Benefits • $79,500 to $85,000 per year plus superannuation
