Your Opportunity


As the Asset Management Officer, your responsibilities will include:

1. Collaborating with the Department, TAFE Queensland, and stakeholders on infrastructure initiatives for the North Region, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies and goals.
2. Providing leadership in campus utilization and infrastructure development to meet current and future training needs.
3. Engaging stakeholders to advance infrastructure and asset initiatives.
4. Managing development projects, including planning, process oversight, and reporting.

This role reports to the Manager, Infrastructure and Logistics. It is a permanent, full-time position primarily based at Cairns or Townsville campuses, with potential work at other campuses.


Key Responsibilities

* Promoting safety culture and supporting the Health Safety and Environment Management System.
* Applying high-level project management skills to infrastructure projects, including research, analysis, and decision-making.
* Ensuring timely project completion, utilizing both individual and team project management skills.
* Developing and advising on asset management processes and monitoring their effectiveness.
* Facilitating organizational change and promoting business acumen among staff.
* Negotiating with stakeholders and developing project proposals aligned with strategic objectives.
* Reporting on project progress to senior staff to ensure alignment with organizational requirements.
* Supporting business units in project methodology development and resource allocation.
* Developing and implementing annual maintenance plans and strategic maintenance frameworks.
* Researching and preparing reports and responses related to projects and tasks.
* Engaging with stakeholders on business planning and process modeling.
* Participating in networks, team activities, and professional development.
* Undertaking additional work as directed.


How You Will Be Assessed


The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

* Strong project management skills with experience in planning and delivering infrastructure projects.
* Leadership in guiding teams and maintaining effective stakeholder communication.
* Understanding of Asset Management functions, including developing plans, strategies, and policies.
* Flexibility, initiative, and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.


Highly Desirable Requirements

* Qualification in Project Management or equivalent experience.
* Experience with Asset Management Systems.
* Knowledge of project management methodologies.
