OverviewLocation: Rockhampton, QldReporting to the Regional Operations Leader, this role is responsible for coordinating train crew and yard operations to ensure productive and cost-effective deployment of resources to establish and maintain a high level of customer service.You willAs a valued member of the Aurizon Rockhampton Depot, you will oversee the daily movements of rolling stock, ensuring all planned activities are executed on time and managing day-of-operations changes to meet all planned train service and maintenance timeframes.
You will provide comprehensive information, analysis and reporting that helps the enterprise achieve its strategic, financial, operational and commercial objectives.
You will also be required to:Direct and manage the allocation, utilisation, and deployment of production resources to ensure disciplined execution of the yard plan.Develop, implement and manage processes and procedures that eliminate factors impacting supply chain performance and the daily schedule.Analyse data and provide insights that drive commercial, financial and operational outcomes with customers.Coordinate the development of reports, plans and forecasting as required.Develop, manage, update and maintain models, processes, frameworks or tools for comprehensive analysis and monitoring.Provide expert advice to leverage financial, commercial or operational improvements.Drive projects and initiatives by supporting enterprise planning and decision making.Develop and maintain knowledge and skills within the team; ensure clear, current, and measurable goals aligned to the plan and targets.Provide advice and coaching to operational employees to achieve performance objectives and promote continuous improvement.Ensure compliance with legislative/statutory obligations, company policies and procedures.Manage light vehicle fleet servicing, maintenance and general repairs.About youTime management, planning and organisation skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.Experience in compiling meaningful reports and presentations for diverse audiences.Strong negotiation, consultation and relationship management skills with success in influencing stakeholders.Ability to identify, summarise and present complex issues to internal and external stakeholders.Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to build relationships and promote collaboration within a team and cross-functionally.Specific skillsShunt Qualified or previous Yard Operations Experience.Certificate IV/Diploma Frontline Management or equivalent (Preferred).
Available to work a shift roster 24/7.Experience in large-scale logistics or heavy industrial organisations (Preferred).
Strong analytical, conceptual, interpretation and problem-solving skills that deliver commercial value.Proven ability to lead teams in a day-of-operations environment.Clear and succinct communication skills in both verbal and written form.Proficiency in computers and Microsoft Office Suite.Experience with RICS (Preferred).
