The Braddon Busking Festival is on Sunday March 15, 9am to 4pm. This is a free one-day event held on and around Lonsdale Street in Braddon - we gather musicians from across Canberra and surrounds to perform on the streets for passers-by. Performers compete for a series of prizes and a spot in the Australian National Busking Championship finals. Most importantly, we aim to bring music, excitement, and a sense of community to the streets of Braddon.
We are hoping to have high-quality photos and video captured throughout the day and are seeking a volunteer for this!
Key info is below.
How the day runs: the Braddon Busking Festival consists of buskers performing at locations along Lonsdale St in Braddon from 9am onwards. At 3pm we then go to Bentspoke BrewPub on Elouera St for final performances and presentation of prizes. The successful applicant is welcome to run their day how they wish - e.g. perhaps taking photos on and off in blocks. The key thing is that we have photos and videos from throughout the day including the final presentations.
What are we looking for: we are hoping to get high quality photographs and videos to help us promote the festival and our community group; we also use pics and videos to help promote the musicians who perform at the festival. We are especially keen to get more photos in landscape aspect, more pictures that include people listening to the buskers in the shot as well as the buskers, and more videos of the buskers in action.
You will need to provide your own equipment suitable for producing high-quality photographs and videos.
We will work with the successful applicant to acknowledge their work as they wish. We recognise that photography and videography are highly valuable skills and are very grateful to anyone who is willing to put their hand up to help us out by volunteering these skills, and we are keen to work with you to credit your work in the best way possible.
