Job Overview
The Claims Assessment Branch (CAB) is responsible for delivering decisions on liability for claims lodged under the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004, including those where veterans have service covered by the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Defence-related Claims) Act 1988 and/or the Veterans Entitlement Act 1986.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality support to staff within selected State DVA offices in response to workplace stressors
* Support staff when conducting difficult conversations and interactions with clients and representatives
* Run skills development sessions in individual and small groups, focusing on topics such as stress management, difficult client interactions, and resilience building
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Qualified Social Worker with eligibility to obtain membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
