Reporting to:
Business Development Director
Responsible for the project management of X-ELIO Australia internal and external inputs for development, ensuring that projects progress to the commercial pre-construction phase while recognizing schedule, cost, and quality expectations.
What will you do?
* Responsible for the overall delivery of projects through to the investment case stage, implementing engineering strategies and policies, and maintaining an overview of O&M requirements.
* Coordination of internal Engineering & Construction, Environment & Planning, Finance, Legal, and Community Relations inputs.
* Management of external consultants to facilitate project development.
* Management of projects to budget and agreed timeframes.
* Coordination with the Interconnection team for the timely delivery of the grid connection process with the assistance of legal and engineering support.
* Development and maintenance of relationships with stakeholders, including local, state, and federal government staff and local community representatives.
* Desktop and field-based investigations into development constraints on shortlisted prospect sites and projects in the feasibility stage.
* Provision of accurate and timely strategic assessment of development issues, risk, and opportunity.
* Preparation of project reports on progress, budget, schedule, issues, risk, and opportunity.
* Attendance at community events and discussion of key development considerations.
* Coordinate the development of project reports and investment cases.
* Monitor legislation, regulations, and policies relevant to renewable energy development, and stay informed on competitor activities.
What do we need?
* Relevant qualifications in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering.
* Minimum 4 years (PEQ) demonstrated experience in project management and business development.
* Previous experience in the solar industry and project development is desirable.
* Understanding local community dynamics, with the ability to negotiate effectively with landowners, regulators, utilities, and other stakeholders.
* Skills and experience in negotiation and the ability to influence outcomes and decisions.
* Previous experience in working across cultures desirable.
* Excellent written and oral communications skills, including the ability to develop clear and concise development plans and presentations covering project status, timeline, risk assessment, and budget needs and performance.
* Ability to operate at a detailed level, organize, and multi-task, with a dedication to seeing projects through completion.
* Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
