Construction and Property Recruitment Director at Hays Your new company: General Contractor hiring for a Construction Project Engineer to work on-site on large, new build commercial construction projects in the Northern Virginia area. Your new role: As a Construction Project Engineer, you will provide administrative and project management support to the Project and Field Management construction team. The projects involve fast-paced large data center and mission-critical construction projects in Northern Virginia.
Your task is to support the construction team to ensure that project targets are completed to the required quality standards and within the set time and budget. Responsibilities include project scheduling, bidding, take-offs, procurement, cost controls, and managing RFI's, submittals, and change orders.
What you'll need to succeed: 2+ years' experience in the construction industry for a general contractor or subcontractor. Experience in commercial construction, including new build or interior renovation projects. Bachelor's degree in a construction-related discipline is preferred but not essential. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication skills, and ability to work with diverse personalities and levels of seniority. Experience with construction software such as Procore or Bluebeam, and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is a plus. Must be a US Citizen and local to Northern Virginia and/or DC.
