A Federal Government agency is seeking an experienced Senior Public Affairs Officer (EL2 equivalent) to provide high‑level guidance, lead communication initiatives, and support the implementation of major organisational change programs. You'll be part of a dynamic, fast-moving team, responsible for managing all communication, media, and stakeholder engagement needs. This includes offering strategic advice and working closely with a wide range of stakeholders on both departmental and project-related content.
Your new role
* Develop and lead the implementation of the Department's 2026 Change Management Strategy
* Craft clear messaging for stakeholders internally and externally
* Manage public-facing channels such as media statements and crisis management
* Prepare and edit communication materials including briefs, fact sheets, speeches, and reports
* Manage competing communication priorities in a dynamic environment
What you'll need to succeed
* Candidates with an active Baseline Security Clearance will be highly regarded
* Immediate start available - We are seeking someone who can commence as soon as possible
* Previous experience in a similar role with the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
* Relevant qualifications or experience in communications, change, marketing, or similar is highly desirable
