Position Overview
We're looking for a passionate Equine Veterinary Nurse to join our North Richmond team and support our cutting-edge breeding and reproductive services. You will collaborate with veterinarians, embryologists, and breeding specialists to deliver exceptional care across surgical, clinical, and lab-based procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and maintain treatment areas, surgical suites, instruments, and specialised equipment
* Assist with equine handling, physical examinations, ultrasounds, and reproductive procedures (ICSI, embryo transfer)
* Support veterinarians during embryo collection, transfer, and in-lab fertilisation protocols
* Monitor post-operative recovery, administer medications, and accurately record clinical data
* Coordinate sample labelling, transport, and storage for advanced reproductive techniques
* Communicate with clients, providing clear updates on patient status and care plans
* Participate in on-call rotations for emergency and critical care services
Requirements
* Diploma or Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
* Minimum 2 years' experience in equine nursing or mixed practice
* Strong equine handling skills and solid understanding of reproductive physiology
* Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
* Flexibility for early starts, weekend shifts, and emergency on-call duties
* Desirable: prior exposure to assisted reproductive technologies or keen interest in advanced training
