About the Position: Our client is looking for an Associate or Senior Associate to join our clients’ team in Brisbane, focused squarely on litigation and dispute resolution. This role is ideal for a lawyer who enjoys the cut and thrust of contested work—strategy, drafting, court appearances, and negotiations—rather than a primarily advisory practice. You’ll take carriage of matters (with appropriate supervision), be a key contact for clients, and work closely with senior lawyers on larger disputes. At Senior Associate level, you’ll have genuine scope to grow your practice, mentor juniors, and put yourself on a clear path toward Partnership. Your work will be predominantly disputes-focused, such as: Commercial litigation: contractual disputes, shareholder/director disputes, business break-ups Property litigation: sale/lease disputes, caveats, encroachments, easements, defects and delay claims Insolvency and recovery: statutory demands, insolvent trading issues, enforcement, judgment recovery Interlocutory applications: injunctions, urgent relief, security for costs, strike-out/summary judgment Dispute resolution: mediations, settlement conferences, without prejudice negotiations Court work: drafting pleadings, evidence, submissions, and appearing (as appropriate) across QCAT and Queensland courts Key Requirements: Admitted Solicitor in Australia with litigation experience (Associate or Senior Associate level) Demonstrated ability to manage disputes strategically, not just “process files” Strong drafting skills across pleadings, affidavits, submissions, and correspondence Confidence communicating with clients and negotiating outcomes Experience with mediations and contested interlocutory steps (highly regarded) For Senior Associate: mentoring capability and interest in business development On Offer: A litigation-heavy practice with consistent, high-quality disputes Real autonomy with support from experienced Senior Lawyers A firm that invests in career development and values long-term progression Genuine opportunity to grow your client base and build a profile in the market Transparent pathway toward Partnership for the right person Competitive remuneration based on experience and performance If you are interested in applying for this role you can apply now through the link below.
