About This Role
Lead structural remediation activities across a major mining operation on an 8/6 dayshift roster. This 3-month contract role oversees painters and boilermakers delivering blast, paint and structural repair works across maintenance and shutdown periods. Responsible for prioritising defects, managing contractors, approving work plans and ensuring safe, high-quality execution aligned with Engineering KPIs.
Demonstrated experience in structural remediation, fabrication, boilermaking or protective coatings within mining or heavy industry
Strong understanding of structural integrity, corrosion management and blast & paint activities
Proven ability to assess risk, prioritise defects and manage remediation scopes
Experience reviewing and approving work orders, maintenance plans and shutdown schedules
Background supervising or coordinating contractors in live operational environments
Sound knowledge of scaffolding controls, permits and site safety systems
Ability to conduct field inspections and verify quality of completed works
Strong planning, scheduling and backlog management capability
Experience managing materials procurement and tracking long-lead items
Competent in maintaining master data, redlines and technical documentation
Ability to collaborate with engineering, maintenance and shutdown teams
Commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Requirements
Trade or technical background in Engineering, Fabrication, Boilermaking or Protective Coatings
Mining or heavy industry maintenance experience
Strong understanding of structural remediation, corrosion and blast & paint
Experience reviewing work orders and prioritising defects
Contractor supervision in live operational environments
Knowledge of site safety systems and scaffolding controls
Strong planning, documentation and backlog management skills
Current driver's licence and ability to meet site access requirement
