ABOUT THE POSITION.
As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for providing professional advice and technical services in civil engineering design and documentation to assist with Council's brownfield civil projects. You will manage outsourced designs and provide external advice to identify and resolve technical issues that will affect delivery of the design.
DUTIES.
* Manage the entire design cycle of infrastructure projects and priority projects with a particular focus on consultation with internal stakeholders, clients and the community
* Identify project risks and ensure compliance by applying a due diligence approach, variations and resolve or implement effective risk mitigation strategies to the design
* Perform quality assurance on site, conduct frequent site visits with survey equipment and prepare reports
* Knowledge of construction techniques for preparation of details and standard documents
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
* Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent qualification
* Extensive AutoCAD, Civil 3D or 12D experience
* Strong communication skills both written and verbal
