Head of Faculty Secondary (Multiple Positions Available)
Hume Anglican Grammar's Donnybrook Campus is offering multiple head of faculty positions for the following learning areas:
* Health and Physical Education
* Humanities
* Mathematics
* Science
About the role
Position type: 1.0 FTE teacher role with a 0.2 time release, fixed‐term 4‐year contract commencing 25 January 2027 at the Donnybrook Campus. The position includes a leadership allowance at level 4.
As Head of Faculty, you will drive the scope and sequence of the academic program, provide expert advice to teachers within your learning area and deliver a relevant, stimulating and effective teaching program. You will create a safe, stimulating and challenging environment, promote the school's philosophy, policies and procedures, and model high standards of teaching and learning.
Responsibilities include mentoring teachers, developing professional engagement, fostering a high‐performance culture of continuous improvement, and maintaining a positive and productive learning climate for staff and students. Additional out‐of‐hours and non‐school day commitments may be required due to the leadership nature of the role.
Requirements of the Role
* Bachelor of Education degree or higher
* Far‐reaching understanding of the curriculum within the learning area
* Ability to develop, implement, deliver and evaluate teaching and learning programs within the learning area
* Proven experience leading others in the implementation of teaching practices and capacity to provide expert advice to teachers within their learning area
* Demonstrated ability to lead effective teams
* Outstanding organisational skills, planning and analytical thinking capabilities
* Personal sense of initiative, enthusiasm and high energy
* Sound financial management and budgeting skills
* Current registration, or immediate eligibility for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
