A major bank is seeking a Senior SQL DBA to join their team on an initial 6‑month contract that may extend, working 2 days a week in the office.
A deep understanding of the Microsoft Technology stack is required to deliver the banks SQL‑server Database Platform Service.
Responsibilities
* Senior DBA to interface with the end‑user community and upper management.
* Participate in enterprise‑level critical systems operational support, SQL projects and consultancy to provide database solutions and services to the business, application, and peer technical teams.
* Configuration and administration of SQL Server components (SSDB, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS).
* Database Service performance reporting.
* High Availability (HA).
* Provide advanced database support and mentoring to Level‑1/2 DBAs.
* Database scripting and automation.
* After‑hour on‑call support on major incidents.
Key Skills / Experience
* Demonstrable advanced experience with MSSQL 2016, 2019, 2022.
* Thorough hands‑on experience with High Availability deployment of SSDB, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS and ongoing performance optimisation.
* Enterprise level L3 support in large complex environments.
* Extensive experience in troubleshooting, problem solving, and process simplification/automation using DevOps tools (e.g., Bitbucket, Terraform, etc).
* Power BI.
* Financial services – highly desirable.
