Opportunity
As the Financial Controller you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day‑to‑day financial operations of the organisation, ensuring full compliance with Australian accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate governance requirements. Your insights will deliver accurate, insightful financial information, maintain strong financial controls, and empower executive management with the clarity they need for confident, strategic decision‑making.
What You'll Be Doing
* Collaborate with management to support and execute the broader business strategic direction
* Improve visibility of financial reporting deadlines across the business to enhance planning and accountability
* Distribute a Quarterly Finance Digest to communicate key financial updates, business insights, and ongoing initiatives
* Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and corporate financial regulations
* Calculate and raise accruals, provisions, and other journal entries required for accurate end‑of‑month (EOM) processing
* Produce and fully reconcile monthly Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements to ensure accurate and complete reporting
* Assist the Finance Manager in preparing monthly results packs for CFO and Director review, highlighting key financial insights and variances
* Manage statutory reporting obligations and ensure all deadlines are met for each entity within the group
* Lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors, internal auditors and ensure compliance, and implement audit recommendations
* Liaise with external accountants across jurisdictions to ensure accurate and timely lodgement of all taxation obligations, including BAS, PAYGW, PAYG, Payroll Tax, and Superannuation (in coordination with the HR Manager)
* Respond promptly and effectively to external financial information requests as needed
* Drive standardisation, efficiency, and best practices across financial processes including invoicing, PO compliance, accruals, and reporting documentation
* Lead initiatives that leverage automation, offshoring, and AI technologies to improve accuracy and reduce manual effort
* Maintain and oversee a robust reporting calendar aligned with team capacity and cross‑functional business needs
* Ensure ongoing improvement in financial accuracy, tax compliance, internal controls, and reporting quality
* Share regular insights on DSO and cashflow with internal stakeholders to support improved working capital management
* Communicate key profitability drivers and opportunities for margin improvement with Finance and business teams
* Serve as a customer‑focused financial partner, enabling stronger decision‑making across internal and external stakeholders
* Champion innovation and growth, driving adoption of new technologies, automation tools, and scalable financial practices
* Support and oversee post‑acquisition integration activities, ensuring alignment of reporting structures and compliance frameworks
Front Running Candidate
* Bachelor of Commerce
* CA or CPA qualified
* Ideally 5+ years' experience in a similar role
* Experience with Xero and Salesforce (preferred)
* Strong leadership and team development skills
* High attention to detail & accuracy
* Excellent analytical and commercial acumen
* Proactive, improvement‑focused mindset
* Outstanding communication & stakeholder engagement abilities
