About This Role Your new role: This role provides specialist forensic mental health expertise to Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services through consultation, liaison, direct intervention, and educational support, while maintaining overall responsibility for patient care.

Services Provided Include To provide specialist psychiatric services to forensic and high-risk consumers across MSAMHS. Provision of specialist forensic mental health input to MSAMHS through consultation and liaison, intervention and educational services. Provide psychiatry support to the various arms of the QFMHS as required for the consumers of MSAMHS. Work in partnership across the Queensland Forensic Mental Health service system.

About You

Support processes that optimise the efficiency and safety of entry, progress, and discharge of consumers from mental health services, including comprehensive assessments, interventions and goal planning, input into clear relapse and re-entry plans, discharge summaries and outcome reporting. This includes facilitating and completion of Violence Risk Assessment and Management Framework processes (VRAM).

Provides inpatient and community care, including participating in the on-call roster.

Provides inpatient consultations as requested.

Provides outpatient consultations.

Participates in multidisciplinary clinics and meetings.

Supervision and teaching of registrars, junior doctors and medical students, and teaching for other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Participation and or leadership of research and quality improvement activities.
