**How will I help?**
The Software Asset Manager will drive a business partner centric operational model with teams structured around how assets are consumed within each domain. You will advise the business on selecting and determining solutions to meet needs through insights, information and importantly reduce risk through effective asset and financial management and reporting, whilst ensuring procurement of only approved products.
You will be responsible for tracking, facilitating, and optimising the renewal of software and hardware contracts, working with Service Owners to understand requirements, validate usage and meet financial requirements.
You will work with the wider technology teams on transition strategies for hardware and software assets and their contractual arrangements, track, analyse and report on asset lifecycles including end-of-life risk, version management and on fleet size.
Responsibilities of the role will also include identifying licencing risks, areas of non-compliance and mitigation through active management of control mechanisms whilst ensuring that all standards and processes within Westpac are adhered to meet both internal and external regulatory obligations.

**What do I need?**
To be successful in this role you will have prior experience in a software asset management role dealing directly with software vendors, preferably in the technology sector.
You will have advanced analysis, problem solving, troubleshooting and consultative skills, and a clear understanding of software and hardware asset management principles.
You will have highly developed interpersonal skills and communication skills with a proven ability to build effective relationships and communicate with people at all levels of the organisation both verbal and written.
