FILTRATION/PROTIEN FRACTIONATION TECHNICIAN

Selborne Biological Services (Aust) Pty Ltd, is a privately owned biotechnology company based in Longford Tasmania, supplying animal-derived biological products worldwide.

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Production Technician to join our team. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone who takes pride in following procedures accurately, maintaining high-quality standards, and working safely within a regulated production environment. The position operates under an Enterprise Agreement (EA) with defined conditions and entitlements. Details of the EA can be viewed online Initially this is a Casual position with the opportunity for the right person to progress to Permanent Full-time.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform large volume filtration, extraction, and purification processes while adhering to a solid, clean process in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
* Operate and maintain filtration, filling, and related equipment
* Ability to accurately and consistently follow procedures
* Accurately complete batch records and production documentation
* Maintain a clean and organised work area
* Assist with Calibration/Maintenance and general laboratory tasks
* Lift and handle materials up to 25kg, requiring physical strength and stamina

What We're Looking For

* Experience in a laboratory, pharmaceutical, chemical or food production environment (preferred but not essential)
* Ability to follow procedures with accuracy and consistency
* Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
* Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
* High attention to detail, especially regarding cleanliness and measurement.
* Flexibility to work varied hours, including morning, afternoon, and night shifts, to meet production schedules.
* Familiarity with production environments operating under quality systems such as GMP will be considered an advantage. Comprehensive training will be provided.
* A forklift licence is advantageous but not essential.

Additional Requirements

* Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and medical assessment.
* Valid Australian work rights or an unrestricted working visa
