About the Role: The Paediatric Emergency Department is a separate collocated unit accredited with ACEM for 12 months of Emergency Department training and RACP for 6 months of advanced training. As a Paediatric Emergency Registrar you will be exposed to a wide range of paediatric presentations, receive protected teaching time (5 hours per week), and participate in simulation, quality improvement and research projects. You will work closely with Paediatric Emergency Physicians and the General Paediatric team, and may transition to a paediatric medicine term if desired.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide clinical care for paediatric emergency patients alongside supervising physicians.
* Participate in teaching sessions and simulation training.
* Engage in quality improvement and research initiatives.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across all Northern Health campuses.
* Support transitional training for paediatric medicine and emergency specialist pathways.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Medical degree with basic qualification to practice in Australia.
* Experience or training in paediatric emergency medicine or related fields is desirable.
* Strong clinical judgement, communication, and teamwork skills.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence‐based practice.
