The need is to improve access to high quality care, broaden the scope and sophistication of neurological services and engage with the unique aspects of the region: that being a large Aboriginal population, tropical neurology, and remoteness.


Essential Criteria

1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
2. Current Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or eligibility for Fellowship.
3. Experience in assessment and management of neurology patients at a consultant level.
4. Oral and written communication skills.
5. The ability to work in a cross-cultural work environment.
6. The ability to work in a collegiate member of a multi-disciplinary team.
7. An interest in and a commitment to improving Indigenous health.
8. Evidence of commitment to continuing education, teaching and quality assurance activities.


Desirable

1. Neurophysiology training, reporting electroencephalograms and performing Nerve Conduction Study (NCS)/ Electromyography (EMG).
