What You'll Be Doing
The Hospital in The Home (HITH) Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) reports operationally to the Director of Integrated Care, Allied Health and Community Services and professionally to the District Director MNCLHD HITH. The role provides expert medical management including but not limited to admitting, consulting, diagnostics, procedural, outpatient, virtually enabled care and on-call services for MNCLHD HITH services. It plays a key role in the provision of medical governance, strategic and operational planning, and advancing innovative models of care via both face‑to‑face and virtual modalities.
Qualifications
* Registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Fellowship of the Australian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent.
* Demonstrated clinical expertise and leadership in a relevant area of practice within a complex public health organisation, including the ability to manage teams, adapt practice based on contemporary evidence, and lead workforce development aligned with MNCLHD HITH priorities.
* Demonstrated ability to provide advanced medical care across both inpatient and ambulatory settings, ensuring safe, high‑quality, patient‑centred care.
* Proven capability to develop, implement and evaluate complex strategic initiatives, including service redesign, change management, innovation, and performance improvement to meet evolving models of care.
* Superior interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective collaborative relationships, engage stakeholders, and influence across professional and organisational boundaries.
* Demonstrated experience in clinical governance, quality and compliance processes, including leading or contributing to audits, incident reviews, research, service redesign and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
* Comprehensive understanding of medical training accreditation processes, with proven experience in delivering interprofessional education, supervision, and the development of medical training pathways.
* Current NSW Driver's Licence and ability to travel as required.
