Job Description
About the role: We are currently seeking a Mine Geologist with Open Pit mining experience to join them on an 8/6 roster based on site. You will contribute and provide technical support to the Geology Department. This position will support our wider team with the accurate collection of geological information, ensuring quality standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
* Designing of ore blocks, including ore block mark-outs and ore spotting duties.
* Engaging with the engineering team to ensure the best blast for ore control, and processing post blast ore block transformations in a timely manner.
* Planning and execution of ore control and ore production.
* Accurate collection of production and reconciliation data, ensuring regular data audits are undertaken.
* Collection and processing of Grade Control samples and data.
* Conduct and provide support for geological pit mapping.
* Monitor and report on overmining / undermining, ensuring feedback is given to the wider team.
* Management of stockpiles on Pit and Mill ROM's and provide assistance to the day‐to‐day Crusher and Mill requirements.
* Consulting with engineers, metallurgy, mining, and other surrounding departments to plan and problem solve for optimal mining and ore control.
* Assist with the training and development of Graduate Geologists and Pit Technicians.
* Follow and perform any lawful and reasonable task/instruction/duty requested of you by the Company, from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
* Tertiary qualifications in Earth Sciences or Geology.
* Two (2) years' experience as a Geologist.
* With a minimum of One (1) year working in an Open‐Pit Mining Environment, preferably in gold.
* Experience working with RC Drill Rigs and organising / managing Grade Control Programs.
* Manual Driver's Licence.
* 4WD training or relevant experience (preferred).
