Job Overview
The State Forensic Mental Health Services (SFMHS) provides mental health services for individuals with mental illness associated with high‑risk behaviours and who are typically involved in the criminal justice system. Services are delivered across inpatient beds, community, prisons, and courts, and recent state government investment has expanded the service, including recent child and adolescent teams and a new adult sub‑acute unit.
As a member of the SFMHS Leadership Team, the Service Manager works in consultation with the State Forensic Co‑Directors to plan, develop, coordinate, implement, evaluate, and report on designated service areas. The Service Manager is responsible for the business and financial resources of designated clinical and non‑clinical areas to ensure safe, high‑quality, and efficient consumer care, in line with North Metropolitan Health Services value framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, coordinate, implement, evaluate, and report on designated service areas.
- Lead the State Forensic Co‑Directors team and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Manage business and financial resources of designated clinical and non‑clinical areas.
- Ensure provision of safe, high‑quality and efficient consumer care.

Eligibility and Conditions
To be eligible for a fixed‑term appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract. This vacancy is subject to a Western Australian Working With Children (WWC) Check. WA Health requires a criminal records screening and integrity check, and may require a pre‑employment health assessment.
