The Leading Hand Fixed Plant Electrician plays a key role in supporting safe and reliable plant performance by providing hands-on electrical maintenance while coordinating, supervising and mentoring members of the fixed plant electrical team.
Working closely with maintenance and processing stakeholders, this role ensures electrical activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with operational priorities. Key deliverables are:
* Leading and performing day-to-day electrical maintenance across the fixed processing plant to support reliable production outcomes.
* Coordinating and supervising the activities of electricians, apprentices and contractors to ensure work is completed safely and to plan.
* Supporting planned and unplanned shutdowns, including isolation, fault finding, prioritisation of work and alignment with maintenance schedules.
* Maintaining compliance with site safety systems, work procedures and statutory requirements.
* Providing guidance, mentoring and technical support to develop capability within the electrical team.
This is a residential role working an 8:6 roster, 10-hour days, offering long-term stability, a strong team environment and the opportunity to step into leadership within a well-established processing operation.
About You
As an experienced Fixed Plant Electrician, you demonstrate a safety-first mindset, take accountability for your work, and lead by example. You are practical, calm under pressure, and comfortable balancing hands‐on maintenance with coordinating people and priorities.
You communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, establish trust within your team, and support a positive, collaborative working environment. You are open to feedback, respect different perspectives, and challenge constructively to achieve safe and reliable outcomes.
You will be a resident of the Kalgoorlie/Boulder area or be willing to relocate to Kalgoorlie permanently from within Australia (relocation support will be provided).
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will have:
* A trade qualification in Electrotechnology (or equivalent).
* Demonstrated experience in fixed plant electrical maintenance, ideally within mining or heavy industrial processing environments.
* Experience supervising, coordinating or mentoring electricians, apprentices and/or electrical contractors.
* A strong understanding of safe systems of work, isolation practices, and maintenance compliance requirements.
* Experience using maintenance and safety systems such as Pronto, QHSE platforms and Microsoft Office.
