An exciting opportunity in NBMLHD awaits a suitable qualified and experienced Pharmacist to lead the District's plans to bring Pharmacy services under a single professional and operational governance structure.
This position will report to the Director Allied Health, Research & Strategic Partnerships, and lead a unified District Pharmacy Service, with oversight of Standard 4 Medication Safety performance, statewide formulary and contract compliance, including benefits realisation, an optimised pharmacy operating model, and workforce sustainability. If you are interested in strengthening pharmacy operations across multiple facilities, leading change and supporting the pharmacy workforce and collaborative approaches to required outcomes, then this role might be for you.

The District Director of Pharmacy provides expert and timely advice to the Chief Executive and District Executive Leadership Team on Clinical Governance related to Medications, Pharmacy policy, Strategic Direction and Procurement and oversees. The District Director of Pharmacy also provides professional leadership and strategic and operational management of all Pharmacy services and manages effective utilisation of pharmacy resources across the District.
The District Director of Pharmacy drives innovation and continuous improvement in support of the District's vision Together, Toward Better Health and the quadruple aim. The role is responsible for ensuring Pharmacy Services work collaboratively across facilities and services to achieve strategic priorities, performance and financial targets, and deliver excellent patient care.

What you will bring to the role

* Recognised Tertiary qualifications in Pharmacy, and/or extensive professional experience in leadership and management of hospital pharmacy services, ensuring the highest professional standards are maintained.
* Extensive experience and demonstrated leadership ability in managing human and financial resources of large hospital pharmacy services in a complex context, including regulatory compliance, contract management and procurement, performance management, workplace change management, and workforce sustainability strategies.
* Track record of leading clinical and professional governance and quality improvement across an organisation, including work to address Standard 4 Medication Safety and Quality Use of Medicines.
* Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and inspire staff to achieve organisational outcomes including developing others and serving as a mentor and role model.
* Demonstrated ability to lead organisational change at scale, and provide high level leadership to develop strategic plans, operational plans and deliver significant organisation wide projects.
* Demonstrated ability to lead implementation of new practices and technologies proactively and collaboratively, and improving clinical systems to enhance clinical quality, cost effectiveness and patient experience.
* Demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence and advocate at a senior level, and superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare high level documents and to represent the organisation with external stakeholders.
* Ability to travel to sites across the District. Current NSW Driver's License (P2 acceptable).
