Engineering 5D – Trade Overseer

Corrective Services NSW

Location: Macquarie Correctional Centre

Employment type: Ongoing, Full time

Salary: $94,451 pa + Incidental Allowance + Leave Loading + Superannuation

Your role

Lead with Purpose and Make a Difference

Guide and mentor inmates as part of a dynamic team, helping them build practical skills and confidence for life beyond correctional facilities. Oversee daily operations to drive productivity and excellence while ensuring safety, quality, and outstanding service standards.

What you'll do

Make a Real Impact Every Day

Step into a role where you'll lead, mentor, and inspire. As a key member of our team, you'll guide inmates through hands-on coaching and teamwork, helping them build valuable work skills, boost their confidence, and prepare for meaningful employment after release—all while contributing to the success of our Service and Business Unit.

Drive Performance and Excellence

You'll oversee daily operations to ensure your team meets productivity and commercial goals, while maintaining the highest standards in Workplace Health & Safety, Quality Management, and customer service.

Invest in Your Future

We'll set you up for success with paid training to complete a nationally recognised Certificate III in Correctional Practice at one of our Corrective Services Academy facilities.

What we're looking for

Qualifications Required:

* Certificate III in Correctional Practice (or willingness to complete within 12 months).
* A current NSW Driver Licence and readiness to drive as part of your role.
* Certificate III in any Metal Fabrication Trade

Essential Requirements:

* Proven post-trade experience
* Proven ability to meet key accountabilities and focus capabilities outlined in the Overseer role description.
* Flexibility and willingness to work across multiple trades as required.
