About The Role
We are seeking a Chef to support daily kitchen operations. The role involves preparing and cooking menu items, managing a section during service, and maintaining consistency in food quality and presentation. You will work as part of a kitchen team, contributing to smooth service flow and adherence to established kitchen standards.
* Location: Surfers Paradise QLD 4217
* Salary: $76,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation
* Employment Type: Full‐time
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes including curries, tandoori items, and breads
* Manage a kitchen section and ensure timely service during peak periods
* Assist with food preparation, marination, and portioning
* Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes
* Monitor food quality and adherence to recipes
* Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
* Assist with stock rotation, storage, and inventory control
* Minimise food wastage and support efficient kitchen operations
* Coordinate with kitchen staff to maintain workflow during service
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen
Skills & Experience
* Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or a related qualification
* Minimum 1 to 2 years of relevant full‐time work experience
* Experience working with Indian cuisine preferred
* Ability to work in a fast‐paced kitchen environment
* Strong attention to detail and consistency
* Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Good time management and organisational skills
