Your Team: The Hosting Database team is part of Technology Infrastructure, within ASX Technology. We are responsible for the administration of business-critical database servers across ASX and for providing project assistance for upgrades and new deployments. Most of these systems run on SQL Server and Oracle Database today. We are building our capability for AWS databases and supporting project deployments. Your responsibilities: Deploy, maintain and support AWS Aurora/RDS instances, running PostgreSQL and other database engines Recommend best practices and approaches for administration of AWS RDS/Aurora Monitor and optimise the performance of database instances Resolve database incidents and requests Create and maintain documentation Must have: Database administration experience in a corporate environment Strong technical skills and experience supporting PostgreSQL in AWS Aurora/RDS Practical experience of migration from on-premises databases to AWS Aurora/RDS Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise scale infrastructure Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions Nice to have: Financial services industry experience or knowledge Practical experience supporting SQL Server, Oracle Database or MySQL, either on-premises or in AWS Experience with other AWS services such as DMS, Athena, CloudWatch and Lambda functions Any experience with Terraform or broader AWS components such as IAM would be a bonus Working knowledge of Windows Server or Red Hat Enterprise Linux AWS, Microsoft, Oracle or other related certifications We make hiring decisions based on your skills, capabilities and experience, and how you’ll help us to live our values.
