Job Title: Senior Anaesthetics Leader
This is a senior medical leadership position that provides clinical and administrative oversight to the Department of Anaesthesia at Hawkesbury District Hospital. The successful applicant will have strong clinical knowledge in anaesthetics, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to innovate and improve patient care.
The role involves:
* Providing clinical leadership and management to the Department of Anaesthesia
* Coordinating medical staff for safe and effective service delivery
* Oversseeing departmental clinical governance
* Contributing to teaching, accreditation readiness, incident management, and driving continuous improvement in patient care and service delivery
The successful applicant will possess:
* Sound clinical knowledge in Anaesthesia demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position
* Possession of Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) and/or equivalent specialist recognition
* Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position
* High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team
* Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards
Appointment duration is 5 years with remuneration as Visiting Medical Officer, Zero Hour Contract with allocated hours.
Selection Criteria:
* Possess or be eligible for specialist registration (Anaesthesia) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Possess Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) and/or equivalent specialist recognition
* Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position
* Sound clinical knowledge in Anaesthesia demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty
* High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team
* Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards
* Demonstrate the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical/Dental Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff
Conditions of Appointment:
* Appointments are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997 and Public Hospital (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts)
