What's on offer?
Fulton Hogan's Metropolitan Roads Program Alliance (MRPA) is seeking an experienced Structures Foreperson to lead our dynamic team. This role involves managing a team, working on the significant Level Crossing Removal package of works in the Melbourne West region, specifically Truganina/Melton. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and will work closely with our delivery team to ensure our continued success in this region.
Some of the key accountabilities:
* Ensure work is implemented in accordance with our policies and required control measures to minimise health, safety, and environmental risks. Maintain thorough understanding of ITP and deliver work that meets expected quality standards.
* Mentor our team members by applying practical knowledge of our systems and site-specific procedures. Establish clear performance expectations for Forepersons, Leading Hands, and other team members to enhance role clarity and competency.
* Accurately record daily activities and resources in EDJR, understand production costs, manage labour, dry and wet hire plant, and subcontractor packages to stay within budget requirements.
* Report incidents, non-conformances, and near misses in a timely manner. Participate in incident investigations and effectively negotiate or resolve any conflicts in a site environment.
* Coordinate with the engineering team to develop and maintain 2- & 4-week lookaheads, ensuring alignment with the long-term program.
* Develop good working relationships with clients, internal, and external stakeholders.
* Conduct Toolbox talks and prestart meetings to an acceptable standard and continuously work on developing self and team members through training and goal setting.
How you'll connect to the role?
To successfully connect with this role, you possess a proven track record as a construction foreperson, with significant experience in structures projects.
You demonstrate a robust knowledge of industry standards and specifications, alongside a capacity to maintain a self-motivated and enthusiastic work ethic. Moreover, a strong emphasis on safety and environmental awareness is essential for this position, ensuring all regulatory and compliance requirements are met effectively.
Finally, your ability to effectively manage and lead teams, setting clear performance expectations, and fostering good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, will set you up for success.
