People & Culture Business Partner – Engagement & Capability

At Bis, we’re focused on building a culture where our people feel engaged, capable, and supported to perform at their best. We’re looking for a People & Culture Business Partner – Engagement & Capability to join our team based in Tomago.

This is a hands‑on, relationship‑focused role partnering with our operational leaders across multiple Bis sites. You’ll play a key role in strengthening leader capability, driving employee engagement, and delivering practical HR solutions that make a real impact on our teams.

What you’ll be doing

- Partnering with operations to deliver people strategies that lift engagement, capability, and performance.
- Providing trusted advice and coaching on employee relations, conduct, and performance management.
- Supporting the rollout of engagement and culture initiatives across our operational teams.
- Facilitating talent and capability programs, including workforce planning and succession initiatives.
- Driving leadership development through training, coaching, and feedback.
- Assisting with change management, organisational realignment, and continuous improvement projects.
- Working closely with the broader P&C; team to ensure consistent and high‑quality people outcomes.

About you

You’re a confident communicator and a natural relationship builder who thrives in a fast‑paced, operational environment. You’re practical, down‑to‑earth, and able to balance business needs with a strong people focus.

- Tertiary qualifications in HR, IR, or a related discipline (postgrad or business studies desirable).
- 5+ years’ experience partnering with leaders in an operational or heavy industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of performance management, talent development, and employment relations.
- Proven ability to influence and coach leaders at all levels.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Willingness to travel to other Bis sites as required (Cardiff, Paget, Karara & UGM locations).
